Marguerite V. Herzfelder

Herzfelder, Marguerite V. (Duffy) of Linden Ponds in Hingham, died November 16, 2016, at the age of 91.

Marguerite grew up in New York City and Long Island, NY, and led an adventurous life while making a happy home for her husband and children in South America, Texas and Spain. She was also a talented amateur actress, winning the Best Performance award at the 1978 Drama Festival in Manhasset, NY; and an active volunteer, working for international women’s clubs and the Preservation Foundation in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Loving wife of the late Robert H. Herzfelder. Cherished mother of Richard Herzfelder and his wife Katherine Wilhelm of Beijing, China, Eileen Gumport of Manhattan, NY and Bruce Herzfelder and his wife Ellen Roy of Westwood. Treasured grandmother of Elizabeth Gumport, Julia Herzfelder and Desmond Herzfelder. Beloved sister of the late Rosemary Julich and Eileen Hanna, and doting aunt to many nieces and nephews. Also the daughter of the late James Patrick Vincent Duffy and Rose (McBride) Duffy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-5 PM at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday in the Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:45 PM, Bourne.
