Margarita Fajardo Tejada

Margarita Fajardo Tejada of Quincy, formerly of Honduras, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. She was 69.

She was born in Villanueva, Honduras to Margarita Tejada and Ventura Fajardo. She spent most of her life in Honduras and moved to the US with her family in the early 2000’s. She often made trips back to her home in Honduras to visit with family and friends and to tend to her parent’s grave.

Margarita adored her family and was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Her favorite times were during the holidays with family, especially Christmas Eve. The house was filled with joy for the holiday, excitement for her granddaughter’s birthday and the smell of homemade tamales. She enjoyed traveling, whether it was back to Honduras, within the US, to France, Italy or the Bahamas. She was a woman of unwavering faith and frequented church, church groups and listening to gospel music. When she was home, she could often be found reading, catching up on the phone with family and friends or tending to her garden. Margarita could be reserved; however, she always knew when to offer her guidance. Her care, support and empathetic nature made enduring friendships wherever she went.

Devoted mother to Carolina and her husband Martino Basta of Martina Franca, Italy, Marilyn Ordoñez and her husband Ondrej of East Boston, and Sergio Ordoñez and his wife Jennifer of Quincy. Loving sister to Vilma Fajardo, Hector Fajardo, Elizabeth Gonzalez and her husband Ricardo, Jose Alberto Fajardo and his wife Sol Palacios and the late Thelma Fajardo. Adoring grandmother to Fredy Andre Ordoñez Fajardo, Sebastian Ordoñez Fajardo and Arlette Ordoñez.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margarita may be made to the Boston Medical Center, Office of Development, 960 Massachusetts Avenue, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA, 02118.
