Margaret T. “Theresa” Murphy

Murphy, Margaret T. “Theresa” of Braintree, died unexpectedly February 2, 2015 surrounded by her family. 

A native of Ireland and a long time employee of Lord & Taylor, Theresa was an active and generous member of her community. She was an avid gardener and reader and enjoyed knitting prayer shawls, baby blankets, and afghans. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Braintree and played Mah Jong every week for over 30 years with her dearest of friends Dotty, Jean, Linda, and the late Pat. Her passion was her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren, was her greatest joy. She will be forever missed.

Pre deceased by her husband John T. Murphy.  Beloved mother of Paula Linhares and her husband Peter of Bridgewater, Ann Henderson and her husband John of Plymouth, Sean Murphy of Braintree, Brian Murphy and his wife Michelle of Hanson, Irene Sullivan and her husband David of Granby and the late Robert.  Loving grandmother of Erin, Derek, Samantha, Gemma, Kiera, Staci, Joshua, Kayla, Terrence, Brenton, Devon, Logan, Meghan and Kathleen.  Great grandmother of Travis.  Caring sister of John O’Connell and his wife Agnes, Kay Mahan and her husband Donal all of Ireland and the late Phil, Lily, Ansty, Maura, Paddy and Michael.  Sister in law of Irene Collins and the late Rita Murphy.  Also Survived by many loving nieces and nephews.   

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather at 9:30 AM in the funeral home on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Theresa may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice.
