Gaughan, Margaret “Peggy” (Sullivan) of Quincy , formerly of South Boston and Jamaica Plain. January 25, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Charles W. Gaughan former Superintendent of MCI Bridgewater. Loving mother of Marguerite “Peggy” McLaughlin and Elizabeth J. Gaughan of Quincy, Gerard L. Gaughan, MD. of Milton and the late Charles E. Gaughan, MD. Sister of the late Angela Hart. Cherished grandmother of Kathleen E. Gaughan of ID. and Matthew C. Gaughan of PA. Also survived by many nephews and nieces. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Tuesday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visitation prior to the Mass. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. Peggy grew up in Jamaica Plain and lived in South Boston before moving to Quincy where she lived for the past 55 years. She was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and attended Boston Clerical School. She loved caring for her family and also enjoyed cooking. Mrs. Gaughan was a very gracious person who always saw the humor in things. Peggy loved to travel the world with her late husband Charles. She was a very intelligent woman and was self taught in the arts, medicine, and literature. One of Peggy’s greatest passions in life was her children, they brought her great joy. Many years ago Peggy worked for Boston Gas Company as a bookkeeper.
