Margaret Murray

Murray, Margaret (Glavin) “Peg” of Squantum, died June 14, 2015. 

Peg worked for over 30 years with her husband Frederick at Primerica as their office manager. She was a long time member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Women’s Club and member and past President of the AWHS Mother’s Guild. She loved to swim in the ocean, especially Cape Cod, and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was a sharing, caring, and loving independent woman who had great wisdom and was always a good listener. Her family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren. She was the life of the party and would host a gathering every Christmas at her house and organize family reunions each summer. Peg will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Daughter of the late Cornelius and Margaret (Buttimer) Glavin. Beloved wife of the late Frederick W. Murray. Devoted mother of Susan Gray and her husband Michael of Squantum, Frederick Murray and his wife Marie of Braintree, and Nancy McCuen of Squantum. Loving sister of Katherine White of Savin Hill, Susan McAleney of Mashpee, Mary Costello and her husband Larry of Mashpee, Michael Glavin and his wife Penny of Quincy, and the late Cornelius Glavin Jr., William Glavin and his surviving wife Jackie of Quincy, Imelda Mieggs, and Walter Glavin. Doting Nana of Jonathan and Alexander Gray, Luke and Michael Murray, and Maggie and Colin McCuen. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
