Margaret M. Mcmillen

McMillen, Margaret M. (O’Brien) age 90, formerly of Quincy, passed away at her home in North Attleboro on January 4, 2015.

Born on November 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John O’Brien and Bridget (Clougherty) O’Brien Thayer. Marge was employed in the insurance industry for many years. After retiring from Kemper Insurance in 1986, she and her husband Fran enjoyed traveling both in the United States and Europe. Her fondest memories were of trips to Ireland to visit with relatives. Marge had a deep love for her family and cherished her lifelong friendships. Her passion for people led to an easy acquaintance with whomever she met, and her home was always open for family gatherings and out-of-town guests. With a quick wit and love of laughter, Marge enlivened many a long conversation over a cup of tea.

Beloved wife of the late Francis S. McMillen.  Loving mother of Francis McMillen Jr. and his wife Joanne of Cohasset; Dianne McMillen and her spouse Ellen Gagnon of Dover, NH; Anne McMillen-Jackson and her husband Chris of Florida; Linda Wanless and her husband Bill of North Attleboro; Gregory McMillen and his wife Meg of Quincy; and Karen McMillen Cahill and her husband Paul of Mansfield.  Adoring grandmother of Michael McMillen; Lauren, Hannah and Matthew Wanless; Erin and Teresa McMillen; and Aidan, Bridget and Tess Cahill.  Dear sister of Rosemary Mahoney of Randolph; John O’Brien of Bakersfield, CA; and the late Mary Kelley, Joseph O’Brien, Paul O’Brien, Patricia McEachern, Nancy O’Brien, Edward O’Brien and Francis O’Brien. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visiting hours will be on Friday 4-8 PM at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at St Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock St., Quincy.
