Margaret P. (Harding) McGahan, 78, a longtime resident of Wollaston, currently from Wellington, FL, died Friday, June 3, 2011 after a long illness. She was born July 22, 1932 in Chicago, IL and lived in Wollaston most of her life. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim; her son James Patrick and her sister Mary Ann Carroll. She is survived by five children, Kathleen (Thomas) Hyde of Northborough, Maureen (Albert) McGahan-Supple of Weymouth, Patrick (Sharon) McGahan of Braintree, Peggy (Paul) Mezzetti of Wellington, FL and Joseph (Ellen) McGahan of Gardner. She was the loving grandmother of eight beautiful grandchildren, Brendan (Jackie), Meghan, Sean, Joseph, Patrick, Christopher, Jennifer and Scott. She is also survived by her sister Ellen (Bob) Pease and her brother Patrick (Barbara) Harding. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. She will be forever missed by her constant loving and loyal companion, her dog Molly. A blessing Mass was held on June 7, 2011 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington, FL. A memorial gathering will be held at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Wollaston, on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A mass will be held at St. Ann Parish, 757 Hancock Street, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Inurnment for both Peggy and Jim will take place at 1:30 PM at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peggy’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
