Margaret M. “Maggie” Flynn

Flynn, Margaret M. “Maggie” of Quincy (Squantum), passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the age of 94. 

Margaret was the loving daughter of the late Denis Flynn and his wife Julia (Sullivan) arriving in the Port of Boston from Waterford, Ireland in 1912.  Maggie was predeceased by her best friends Anastasia T. Elia for seventy years. They worked at the colonial lunchonette opposite Boston City Hospital for thirty-five years.  Maggie worked for the City of Quincy School department as a security guard at both North Quincy and Quincy High School for 12 years.  They sailed on the S.S. France, QE2 and the Stella Maris in the Greek Islands. Margaret with her sister Alice, niece Carol and Anastasia received the Papal Blessing from Pope John Paul II in Rome in 1993.

Loving aunt of Joan and Carol Swirbalus of Squantum, Robert D. Swirbalus and his wife Gerry (Willard) of Weymouth and their son Matthew Swirbalus of Quincy.  She was predeceased by her loving nephew Edward P. Swirbalus of Plymouth.  Loving great aunt of Marc A. Swirbalus and his wife Heidi of Hingham and their children Christopher, Nolan and Meghan.  Also Lauren (Swirbalus) and her husband Mark McKeever of Scituate and their children Joshua and Casey Erin.  Predeceased by brothers Gerald Flynn, Francis Flynn, Dennis Flynn and sisters Alice A. Swirbalus and Josephine Ahearn.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
