Margaret M. Craig

Margaret (Donahue) Craig, 91, of Hingham, died on December 16th, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Boston, Margaret lived in Weymouth, Lunenburg and for the last 50 years in her beloved home overlooking Hingham Harbor.

Loving wife of the late and wonderful William Craig, she was the proud mother of seven – Susan and her husband Stephen Downing of Humarock, Elizabeth and her husband Steven Pinkus of Cohasset, Joanne Craig of Sharon, Stephen Craig of Hingham, Ellen and her husband Glen Schlager of Norwell, Amy and her husband Eric Lennane of Burlingame, CA, and Jeffrey and his wife Michelle Craig of Cohasset; loving Gram to 10 – Michael, Sarah, James, Danielle, Will, Kyle, Brian, Eric, Sean & Hunter; and great-grandmother to 7¾ – Ryan, Brendan, Emily, Thomas, William, Maggie, Caroline & TBD.  Margaret was the daughter of the late Patrick & Margaret Donahue of Jamaica Plain & Scituate, sister to the late Mary Matheson, the late Patricia Terry, the late Robert Donahue & Ann Donahue who passed earlier this week.  Her brother Jack and his wife Nancy Donahue reside in Newton.

Margaret will be remembered as a strong and loving wife, an unselfish mother, a doting grand and great grandmother, a kind friend, a passionate gardener and an avid reader. She will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home beginning at 9 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial will be on Monday December 24, at 11:30 AM at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, State House, Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
