Downey, Margaret J. “Bunny” (Meehan) of Hingham, formerly of South Boston, July 7, 2005. Beloved wife of John F. Downey, Jr. of Hingham. Loving mother of Patricia & her husband Edward Perkins of Milton, Pamela Downey of Hingham, John F. Downey, III & his wife Jessica of Roslindale, and Paula Downey of Weymouth. Loving grandmother of Lindsay & Jack Downey. Sister of John Meehan of NH, Paul Meehan of Norwell, Mary Price of Chatham, and Emily Meehan of TN. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-9 PM. Burial in Hingham Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bunny may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, c/o Dr. Richardson, 44 Binney St., Floor D1B30, Boston, MA 02115 (memo: Multiple Myeloma Center). Bunny worked as a registered nurse for Boston City Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 2002. She was a resident of Hingham for 40 years, formerly of South Boston. Her loves included going to the beach, reading, cooking, and going for walks (especially at World’s End in Hingham). Her and her husband John recently purchased a home in Marco Island, FL. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
