Margaret E. Meek

Meek, Margaret (Peggy) E. (Rooney) of Quincy, formerly of Milton, died January 24, 2012, surrounded by the family she loved, Peggy was 84. The beloved wife of 61 years to Edwin F. Meek, Jr of Quincy. Loving mother of Edwin F. Meek, III of Somerville, John H. Meek of Maine, Dorothy Geary of Braintree and Susan White of Plymouth. Sister of Kenneth Rooney and Eleanor Coughlin both of Quincy and the late John, William, James Rooney, and Dorothy Walsh. Devoted Grandmother of Caroline, Anthony, Kimberly, Edwin IV, Timothy, Jacqueline and Isabella. Great Grandmother of Cassandra, Arianna and Autumn. Peggy was a drum majorette at North Quincy High School, she also was the lead drum majorette for the American Legion. She enjoyed playing bingo at Sacred Heart as well as St. Agatha’s. She loved traveling down to Cape Cod. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality at Sacred Heart Parish in North Quincy as well as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Milton Cemetery.
