Margaret C. Mcelaney

McElaney, Margaret C. (Barry), in her 100th year, of Quincy and South Harwich, formerly of Dorchester and Charlestown, passed away January 1, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of the late Andrew J. McElaney. Margaret and Andrew had celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on October 12, 2009. Loving mother of Marie and her husband John Linz of Bedford, Nancy and her husband John Joyce of Wellesley, and Andrew J., Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Hingham. Sister of the late Katherine Sheehe and the late Joseph Barry. Survived by her sister-in-law Rita McPhee of Hingham. Loving grandmother “Nanie” of Laura Boquist, Christine Macomber, Lisa Duncan, Nancy Joyce, Kathleen Coney, Andrew J. McElaney, III, Elizabeth Moore, Kathleen, Michael and Matthew McElaney. Also lovingly survived by 17 great grandchildren. Margaret loved her family, her Catholic faith and the Boston Red Sox. Funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, on Monday, January 7 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. from Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Sea Street, Quincy. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
