Margaret A. (Connolly) Melody, 81, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

 A Celebration of Peggy’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 21 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, East Weymouth, MA.  

 Peggy was born August 30, 1931 to Michael and Catherine (Hernon) Connolly and grew up on Moseley Street in Dorchester.

 Preceded in death by her husband Paul J. Melody, Sr., her sons Paul and Jack Melody, and siblings John, Mary “Mimi” and Francis Connolly.

Dearest and most beloved mother and grandmother, Peggy above all else cherished her family.  She is survived by her children Maureen Connors of Milton; Jim Melody of Weymouth; Kate Tempesta of Halifax; Suzanne Dakin of Halifax; Jennifer Geraghty of Norwell; daughter-in-law Sandy Melody of Berkley and beloved niece Mary Kate D’Souza of Weymouth.   

Peggy was a gentle, loving woman of great faith and a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception parish community.  She volunteered her time to the Weymouth Food Pantry. A self-proclaimed “fashionista”, Peggy loved to shop, her favorite place to be was by the ocean, she had a song for every occasion and a smile that warmed all she encountered.

Visiting hours in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) on Tuesday, August 20 from 4-8 PM. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weymouth Food Pantry, 1189 Commercial Street, Weymouth, MA 02189.
