Margaret A. Mccall

McCall, Margaret A. (nee O’Malley) of Hingham, MA formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away October 9, 2023. Margaret was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Hugh and Margaret O’Malley of Westport, Ireland. She is a graduate of Gwynedd Mercy University. In 1952 Marge married Jim and raised their children in Havertown, PA for 46 years, prior to moving to Hingham, Massachusetts in 2010.

Loving wife of 58 years to the late James D. McCall. Devoted mom to Jim (Gloria Hoffner), Tom (Patty), Meg Albright (Mark) and Maura Carroll (Roger). Dear sister of the late Kathleen Patterson and James O’ Malley. The best Nana Marge to her grandchildren Richard Hoffner-McCall, Steven Hoffner-McCall, Connor McCall Albright (Tenēa), Graham McCall Albright, Abigail Margaret Carroll, Elizabeth Rose Carroll, Amelia Grace Carroll and Savannah Albright and great Nana Marge to TeAnna Albright, as well as, beloved Aunt Margie to many nieces and nephews.

After raising her four children, Margaret worked as an office manager in the healthcare field and retired from Bryn Mawr Hospital.  She then continued to volunteer at Bryn Mawr’s thrift shoppe for many years which inspired her love for antiquing. She had the fondest memories of her summers in Avalon, NJ, tennis at Paddock Park, and afternoons at Walnut Street Theatre that all turned into lifelong traditions, friendships and traveling escapades. She was an avid bridge player, she loved being Irish, she enjoyed reading the Sunday paper cover to cover – she was a great conversationalist!  Other interests were swimming, watching everything on PBS and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, October 27, at 11:00 am at Saint Denis Church 2401 St. Denis Lane Havertown, PA 19083. Visiting hours will be at Stretch Funeral Home 236 East Eagle Rd. Havertown, Pa. 19083 from 9:30 am-10:50 am. The interment will be in St. Denis Cemetery.  Luncheon to follow after the mass.

For those dear friends and relatives in Massachusetts, we will host a luncheon at Linden Ponds in November.
