Margaret A. Gaddis

Gaddis, Margaret A. “Peggy”, a lifelong resident of Hingham, died August 29, 2009. Sister of the late Harold Gaddis. Aunt of Judy Henner of IN, David Gaddis of GA, and Dwight Gaddis of TX. Margaret worked for the Federal Government in the Navy Defense Building in Boston for 30 years where she oversaw the top secret clearance screenings. She had a strong affection for small animals, especially cats and enjoyed her trips to Ireland and Bermuda. After caring for her elderly father and aunts, Margaret was welcomed into the family of Maria Read of Hingham. For the last 10 years, Margaret was a resident of Harbor House Skilled Nursing in Hingham. She cherished her time there, felt loved by her caregivers, and enjoyed being part of the Harbor House community. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday 6-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Quincy Animal Shelter, 56 Broad St., Quincy, MA 02169.
