D’Arcy, Margaret A. (Cavanagh) Peggy of Hingham, died August 19, 2018.

Peggy adored her family and collecting sea glass and rocks with her grandchildren. She loved staying at the beach until the sun went down. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and had a strong faith. Peggy was a friend of Bill W. and worked as a substance abuse councilor for many years. She was one of the founding members of Steel Magnolia’s, a reading group of the South Shore geared toward those in need. She was a sweet and generous woman who was a friend to all and treated everyone with dignity and respect. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Loving mother of Nancy Carlson and her husband Paul of Braintree, Stephen J. White and his wife Deb of Vermont, Michael F. White and his wife Carolann of Marshfield, and the late Robert G. White and his surviving spouse Linda and the late Joseph A. D’Arcy and his surviving spouse Amy D’Arcy-Bush. Cherished sister of Mary Wagner and her husband John of Bridgewater and the late Thomas F. Cavanagh and his surviving spouse Edna. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM in House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Hingham. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peggy may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
