Marceline R (Flaim) Compston age 93 passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024 surrounded by family.
Marceline, best known as Marcy, was born in Pennsylvania on March 4 1931, to the (Late) Henry and (Late) Victoria (Szala) Flaim. Cherished sister of Shirley Secary of CO and Dorothy Rochelle of NC. She spent her early years working in stores and factories until marrying her (Late) husband Albert Compston, Staff Sargent/United States Marine and becoming the devoted mother of 7 children: (Late) Alan and his wife Kathy; (Late) Georgina (Dina); Vicki and her partner Paul Calabro; (Late) Suzan and her partner John Meaney; (Late) Patricia Herbert and her husband Francis Herbert II; Daniel and his wife Ginny; David and his wife Elena. Nana to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren whom she absolutely adored. (Grandchildren): Shannon, Tessie, Francis III, (Late) Mellissa, (Late) Gloria, Jessica, Angela, (Late) Anthony, Brianne, Nicole, and Mathew. (Great-grandchildren): Adrianna, Abby, Landon, Kody, Logan, Grayson, Gloria, and Mila.
As a military wife she moved around eventually settling in Quincy, working in jobs such as nursing homes and with the Salvation Army where her lifelong compassion for others truly shined. Marcy was an avid walker, lover of animals and a wonderful cook, always ready to share a meal or cup of coffee with anyone who paid a visit. Her smile, generosity and all around loving nature will be forever missed by all who survive her including cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
And a special thank you to: Karen Peterson, PA-C over the many years for her extraordinary care to our loving mother, nana and great nanny. Also, the Old Colony Hospice for their wonderful care as Marceline, passed in the last week of her life.
Fly high now, our angel, Jesus has you in his loving arms. We all will be remembering you by keeping you in our hearts and souls forever.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 1/13/2025 from 9-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by a funeral home service at 10:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marceline may be made to a charity of your choice.
