Dias, Manuel J. of Hobe Sound, FL died October 5, 2014.

Manny was born in Cambridge, grew up in Norwood and lived in Weymouth for over 30 years before retiring to Florida. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Manny was a hard working businessman—the owner of Joseph’s Luncheonette in Dorchester and most recently the owner and operator of Roman Catering in Weymouth, successfully run for over 25 years. He enjoyed many years of performing with South Shore Men of Harmony. Manny was an avid sports fan of all New England sports teams, especially UConn Basketball. Manny was an active parishioner and Eucharistic minister of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Weymouth. Upon retirement to Florida, he was an active member of his community, where he was blessed with many friends. Manny was a devoted family man who took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Rose (Calhoun) Dias of FL. Devoted father of Renee Rezendes and her spouse Jesse of Carver, John Dias and his spouse Michael Cumpsty of New York, Kathleen Sylvia and her spouse William of Hanson and Patricia Dembrowsky and her spouse John of Stoughton. Cherished “Grampy” of Lindsay, Ryan, Jennifer, Andrew, Jacob, Noah and Ethan. Loving brother of Mary Machado and Alfredo Dias, both of FL. Brother-in-law of Fernanda Dias of Fall River. Also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law in the Calhoun family. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Manuel to South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation, 55 Fogg Road, Weymouth, MA 02190.
