Santangelo, Madeline (Simonelli) of Quincy, October 1, 2009. Beloved wife of Thomas S. Santangelo of Quincy and the late Charles L. Leofanti. Loving mother of C. Gary Leofanti of IL, Christine M. and her husband Stephen J. Spitz, Falmouth and Stephen R. Leofanti of Sagamore Beach. Sister of Grace Sacco of Quincy, Norma Pari of Holbrook, Chris Simonelli of Quincy, George Simonelli of Braintree, Marion Panico of Quincy, Josephine Balboni of Avon, Robert Simonelli of Weymouth and the late Mary Anastasi. Grandmother of Sandy, Eric, Gregory, Tonia, Jason and the late Angela. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Madeline’s passion in life were family gatherings. Planning family functions and caring for all was her specialty. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting and was an avid Boston sports fan. Upon retiring from Howard Johnson’s company she enjoyed being active in the community. Madeline served as chaplain for the Stella del Nord of the Son’s of Italy, and was a member of the St. Mary’s Senior Group. She was warm, caring and selfless. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday, 2 – 6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
