O’Brien, Madeline R. (Carnes) of Tarpon Springs, FL, formerly of Hull, January 13, 2006. Beloved wife of the late James V. O’Brien. Loving mother of Marilyn Thomas of Dunedin, FL, Helen Cobb of Port Richey, FL, Kathleen Heffernan, James V. O’Brien, Jr., both of Weymouth and Sharon O’Brien of Tarpon Springs, FL. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Visitation prior to Mass. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery. Madeline passed away in Florida after a long illness. She was born and raised in Hingham. After her husband returned from Germany (where he was a POW) during WWII, they moved to Hull, where they raised their family. Madeline enjoyed swimming, watching ice skating championships, walks on the beach and Red Sox baseball. Her family will remember her great sense of humor and she will be greatly missed by all she touched.
