Sullivan, Mabel T. (Tatalias) of Hingham formerly of Milton, passed at home with her family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer on April 29, 2011. Beloved wife of the late John P. Sullivan, Sr. Loving mother of Patricia A. Sullivan-Evarts and her husband Jasper M. Evarts of S. Dartmouth, John P. Sullivan, Jr. of Weymouth, Jeffrey J. Sullivan and his wife Lauren Healey-Sullivan of Hingham, Kathryn M. Harrington of Weymouth and Robert J. Sullivan and his wife Jane E. Tudgee-Sullivan of Milton. Cherished grandmother of Joshua, Jeremiah (and his wife Jennifer Hanlon), Brenna, Patrick, Kaelyn, Luke, Timothy, Brian, Julia, Aiden and Pennie and her great granddaughter, Ella Mae, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mabel was pre-deceased by ten brothers and sisters. Mabel grew up in South Boston and lived in Milton for many years before settling in Hingham. Mabel worked as a maintenance administrator for New England Telephone Company for 29 years, before retiring in 1991. Mabel was an avid golfer, enjoyed walking, traveling and summering on Nantucket with her family. Mabel was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and St. Mary of the Hills Women’s Guild. She spent time volunteering on the switchboard at Milton Hospital and Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Most of all Mabel will be remembered as a devoted mother who loved entertaining her family on the holidays where her children and grandchildren looked forward to all of her cooking. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at Friday at 9:45 am prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10:30 AM. Burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton. Donations in memory of Mabel may be made to a Charity of your choice.
