Lynn Marie (Reilly) Menconi

Lynn Marie (Reilly) Menconi, of Hingham, died peacefully, on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 69.

Lynn was born in Quincy on February 25, 1955, and was the daughter of the late David Joseph and Ruth Marie (Kusser) Reilly. She was raised in the Quincy neighborhoods of Merrymount and South Quincy, attended local schools, and graduated from Quincy High School. She received her diploma from the Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing and continued her education at Curry College (BSN) and later earned her master’s degree (MSN) in adult psychiatric and mental health nursing from Boston College. She was a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association, the Coalition for Substance Abuse Prevention (City of Quincy), the Advisory Council on Alcoholism of the Massachusetts Hospital Association, and the Massachusetts Council of Nurse Managers. Lynn was a board-certified Registered Nurse in Massachusetts since 1977. She was certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health, and was board certified as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. She also held a certification in Nursing Administration from the American Nurses Association. 

Lynn began her career at Quincy City Hospital/Quincy Medical Center, first as a Pediatric Nurse Manager, and later as a Nurse Manager of the Neuro-behavioral and Addiction/Substance Abuse Unit. In 1990, she assumed the position of Director of Psychiatric Services where she served for more than a decade. She finished her career as a Clinical Instructor of Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health at the Mass General Institute of Health Professions until her retirement in 2021. She was the ultimate patient advocate, always providing the best care possible for her patients. She loved her profession in which she developed a number of life-long friendships with her colleagues.

Lynn was the beloved wife of Michael Joseph Menconi. The two married on November 5, 1989, at St. John the Baptist Parish in Quincy. Together they shared 35 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Michael J. Menconi Jr. and his spouse Jenna Webber of New York City, and Meredith L. Menconi of Salisbury. Lynn was the dear sister of the late Sandra Reilly and is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends. Lynn was also the devoted caregiver of her late aunt Marguerite Demone and her beloved cousin Deborah Demone. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, August 15, 2024, 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024, prior to the Funeral Mass at Divine Mercy Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Cremation will follow. Interment is private.
