Lynn I. Freeman

Lynn Ida Freeman (Shollenberger) passed away on October 3, 2023 at the age of 75 in Braintree, Massachusetts. Lynn was born on July 3, 1948, in South Weymouth, she was the daughter to the late Stanley and Marie Shollenberger. She was proud to raise her family in Dorchester, MA.

Lynn was the beloved wife of the late George Freeman and a loving mother to Michael Freeman and his wife Shannon of Braintree and Donna (Freeman) Moynihan and her husband John of Lakeville. She was the sister of Lee Shollenberger of Florida. She took great pride in being a grandmother to her six grandchildren: Nolan, Johnny, Coleman, Aidan, Nora, and Kathryn. Lynn cherished her family and found joy in spending time with them.

In addition to her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother, Lynn was a talented seamstress. She honed her craft and used her skills to create beautiful pieces for her friends and family in Dorchester, MA. Lynn’s creativity and talent were admired by those who were fortunate enough to receive her handmade creations.

Lynn also treasured the friendship of Cathy Stokes and her classmates from South Weymouth High School, Class of 1966. These connections brought her comfort and joy throughout her life.

Lynn will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and artistic spirit. She touched the lives of those around her with her warm heart and caring nature. Lynn’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Please join us in celebrating the life of Lynn Ida Freeman. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 23rd at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Old Colony Hospice in Lynn’s honor.
