Lorraine B. Noone

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine B. Noone of Abington. Lorraine passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born in Roxbury (Boston) on February 7, 1937, Lorraine moved to Quincy where she raised her two children. After many years she moved from Quincy, Braintree, Halifax, and Cocoa Beach, FL. She became a snowbird and eventually moved to Cocoa Beach full time. She later moved to Abington to be closer to her family.

Lorraine was the former wife of the late James H. Noone. She was a loving mother to her two daughters Carol Illingworth and her husband Jack of Abington, and Donna Richards of New Hampshire. Her role as a mother she held dearest to her heart and embraced every moment of raising her two daughters.

Lorraine was the cherished Nana to her five grandchildren; Jessica Richards, Jamie Richards, Ryan Illingworth and his wife Shannon, Alexandra Richards and Jenna Illingworth. Six great grandchildren; Skye, Jayson, Carter, Sadie, Blair and Aksel. Although they lived at a distance, she always kept them close to her heart.

Her love extended to her siblings and is survived by her sister, Marion Vodden of Abington. Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings; Pauline Oppman, Barbara Brown. Beverly Sarro, Patricia Clark, Gail Shanahan, Stanley Vodden, Frank Vodden, William Vodden, Robert Vodden and John Vodden.

She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and close lifelong friends, due to her kind and loving nature. They would always make an effort to see her when they were in town spending hours playing cards, UNO and Pokeno. But most of all the joyous laughter they shared. She was happiest in their presence and greatly loved by all that knew her.

Her home was always welcoming. Lorraine was never idle, busy cooking, sewing, crocheting and entertaining. Being a Bingo enthusiast from a young age, Lorraine continued the excitement by visiting the casino with friends and family. Lorraine loved to travel and spent many days visiting out of state family and friends. She was the first one to say yes to a road trip.

All services shall be private. Please consider a donation in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
