Lorraine M. “Laurie” Garrity

Garrity, Lorraine M. “Laurie”, of Hingham, died April 12, 2015.

Laurie grew up in Scituate and graduated from Chandler Business School of Boston with her Associates degree.  She worked at Thayer Academy in Braintree as a  business administrator for 25 years.  Laurie was a selfless woman who always put others, especially her family, before herself.  She had a love for animals and rescued many cats and dogs over the years.  Laurie enjoyed nature; particularly reading in her back yard watching the birds and going to the beach to watch the ocean and find sea glass with her grandchildren.

Her main passion was her family and spending time with those she loved, especially her children and grandchildren.  Laurie will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Beloved wife of 41 years of Arthur T. Garrity, Jr. of Hingham.  Loving mother of Tory Devonshire and her husband Scott of Whitman and Jared Garrity and his wife Kathleen of West Bridgewater.  Devoted Nonnie of Peyton, Graham and Jack Devonshire all of Whitman.  Caring daughter of the late William and Ethel (LaVene) Harrington.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM.
