Lorraine E. Holbrook

Lorraine Elizabeth (Zopatti) Holbrook, 73, of Weymouth, died February 14, 2021 after suffering a ruptured aneurysm on January 23, 2021. Born the daughter of Olimpio and Irene Zopatti she was the oldest of five children, raised in Braintree, where she met and married the love of her life, Thomas Holbrook, her husband and best friend of 60 years.  Tom and Lorraine moved to Weymouth where they raised their two children and lived a life focused on their family.

In addition to Tom, she leaves a family who adored her. Her children, Lisa and Leo Doyle of Yarmouth Port and Michael and Jennifer Holbrook of Rockland, her brothers and wife, Stephen and Ruth Zopatti of Weymouth, Mark Zopatti of Braintree, her sister and husband, Marie and Ronald Lucas of Braintree, her prized grandchildren Mairead and her husband Jared, Ava, Emily and Harrison and all of her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Zopatti.

Lorraine worked for several years as an administrative assistant in real estate until both her and Tom retired, but her greatest legacy is the joy, love, laughter and caring she brought to her family. A fantastic mother who evolved to a legendary grandmother, she was an enthusiastic participant in the lives of those she loved. She danced at every wedding, attended every event, held all the babies, hosted all the holidays, walked the beaches, loved a puzzle, always had the piece of cake and just shined her love and light for a family who will miss her forever.

Due to Covid restrictions Lorraine’s service will be private. Although we cannot gather together with her family at this time, friends may still offer their support by clicking the link above and sharing a special memory or message.

Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to the Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham, MA 02043.
