Lorraine Conroy

Conroy, Lorraine ( Flynn) of Quincy, April 28, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Patrick J. Conroy. Loving mother of Dr. Lorraine Conroy of Chicago, IL. Patrick Conroy and Anne M. King both of North Quincy . Sister of Helen Hayward of Arlington, and Peggy Bowser of Medford and the late Joseph, John, Martin and Paul Flynn. Cherished grandmother of Joshua, Joseph and Jonathan King all of North Quincy. Lorraine was born in Charlestown and lived in Somerville until she settled in Quincy in 1956. Lorraine was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston and Catherine Laboure School of Nursing. Lorraine worked as a registered nurse for over 35 years, 20 of those years she spent working at Long Island Hospital in Boston where she was very active in the Union and dedicated to improving patient care. In her younger years Lorraine spent time volunteering at Quincy Elementary School as a room mother and a Girl Scout leader in North Quincy. Lorraine was a life member at Squantum Yacht Club and former President of the Ladies Auxiliary at Squantum Yacht Club. Lorraine regularly visited her friends at the Irish Village on Cape Cod over the past 20 years. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Above all things Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandsons. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday 2-6PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
