Lorelyn A. Brooks

Lorelyn A. Brooks (Schmidt) “Lori” of Weymouth, August 10, 2015. God called his beautiful angel Lorelyn to Him after her courageous battle with lung cancer.

Lorelyn loved her large family with all her heart. She also adored her grandchildren greatly. After raising her nine children, she went to work at South Shore Collaborative School in Hingham as a teacher’s aide for disabled children. She loved each child there as her own. Lorelyn was an avid reader, enjoyed the ocean view and playing table games with her friends. She also enjoyed attending Bruins and Patriots games as well as traveling.

Beloved wife of Robert Brooks originally of Dorchester. Loving mother of Robin Spinella and husband Marc of So. Weymouth, Robert Brooks, Jr. and wife Lisa of Pembroke, Brian Brooks and wife Lee of Weymouth, Brenda Carney and husband Chris of Hanover, Bernadette Brooks of E. Weymouth, Michael Brooks and wife Shannon of E. Bridgewater, Mary Duclos and husband Michael of Abington, Dennis Brooks of N. Weymouth, and David Brooks and wife Amanda of So. Weymouth. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Robert Schmidt. Cherished “Nana” to 21 grandchildren. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lorelyn may be made to South Shore Educational Collaborative School (Community Program), 75 Abington St., Hingham, MA 02043.
