Lois C. Ricketts

Lois C. Ricketts of Pembroke, a longtime Hingham resident, died October 7, 2016. The beloved wife of 42 years to the late John J. Ricketts. Loving mother of John J. Ricketts, Jr. and his wife Anita of Weymouth,  Susan J. Tyler and her husband Michael of Pembroke, Brian E. Ricketts of Halifax, Elizabeth A. Driscoll and her husband Joseph of Pembroke, Kevin G. Ricketts and his wife Lisa of E. Bridgewater, Christopher J. Ricketts of Assonet and the late Paul M. and Stephen G. Ricketts.   Sister of the late Marguerite Grant and Anne Rieveley. Mother in law of Mary Beth Ricketts.  She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Originally from Dorchester, Lois was proud of her Irish heritage. She and her late husband John raised 8 children in Hingham. The foundation of her life was her family. They were the cornerstone of all that was truly important to her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a cherished mother and a devoted grandmother who loved her family deeply. Although they are broken hearted, they are grateful for all the blessings she brought into their lives. On behalf of Lois ‘s family they would like to express their sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the entire staff at Wingate for their outstanding care and dedication that was given to their mother Lois in her final days and for the wonderful way they also comforted the whole family.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lois may be made to Wingate at Silverlake 17 Chipman Way, Kingston, MA 02364 or to Cranberry Hospice,  36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, Ma 02360.
