Lois Ann (Liquori) Rand, 70, a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother was called home to heaven on August 1, 2013 surrounded by love with her family. Born on February 4th in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter to the late Frank and Catherine Liquori. She is preceded in death by the love of her life LT Benjamin W. Rand, USN. Lois is survived by two brothers, Frank Liquori and wife Debi of Rockland, MA and James Liquori and wife Mel of Rockland, MA. Daughters, Patty Sanford and husband Steven of Azle, TX and Nancy Rand Stachmus and husband Craig of Myersville, MD. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Megan and Daniel Sanford and Stephanie and Samantha Stachmus. Six nieces and nephews who loved and laughed with their Auntie.
Many friends and the wonderful family at the Indian Head Moose Lodge #1712, where she was a member of the WOTM Chapter #576 and the 2013-14 elected officer Academy of Friendship and a Senior Regent from 2006-07.
After the death of her husband, being a strong and courageous woman, she pursued and earned a degree in Business from Charles County Community College and started a career as a bookkeeper, spending over 13 years at the Gangplank Marina and Restaurant on the waterfront in S.W. DC.
Lois loved to play the guitar for her girls and in Church. She loved reading mystery novels, crossword puzzles, dancing, and traveling. Her beautiful smile will be missed, but will remain in our hearts forever.
Having been a member of the Gold Star Wives of America, whose mission it is to provide service, support and friendship to the widows and widowers of military personnel who died on active duty or as the result of a service connected cause, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gold Star Wives of America, P.O. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 6-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 9 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
