Lois A. Keniston

Lois A. Keniston, (formerly Sweezey) 77, of Weymouth, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, following a very long illness.

Lois was born in Weymouth on December 14, 1945, she was the daughter (and one of thirteen children) of the late Warren and Mary (Egan) Keniston, both of Weymouth.

Most of her life Lois was a resident of the Town of Weymouth.

Before her illness, Lois enjoyed walking her dog, gardening, going to the beach, vacationing, shopping, and going to different places with friends and family. Lois was always ready to have some fun, to help out a friend or just have a conversation with a good cup of hot tea. She will be missed and remembered fondly for her outgoing personality, sense of humor and compassion for others.

Lois worked for many years at different Nursing Homes on the South Shore, such as Randolph Crossing and Queen Anne’s in a Supervisory position.

Lois was predeceased by her ex-husband David W. Sweezey and her children Karen, Diane and Kevin Sweezey.

Lois was the devoted mother of Darcy Sweezey of Marshfield, loving mother in-law to David Myrer and the beloved grandmother of Deanna M. Blake of Weymouth. She is survived by four of her sisters, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Lois’ wish was to not have any funeral services and a celebration of life will be held privately in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Lois’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
