Lisa K. Gilbode

Lisa K. Gilbode 1957 – 2018. On August 14, Lisa’s family and her friends unexpectedly had to say goodbye to their sister, aunt, and creative soul.

They are heartbroken, but they are also happy that she is (they believe) dancing with her Mom and Dad and other family members and friends in a better place.

Lisa loved the ocean, thrift stores, her students, her nephews and nieces, her family and friends. She loved the Red Sox, Smokey (her feline niece), and Liberty Grill’s pizza. Lisa was a creative jewelry maker and an absolute genius in finding information online about any subject at all. (What others would search for hours long, Lisa would find in minutes.) Lisa also was a proud member of the GrandUkes – a band of ukulele players that found its sound at the Hingham Senior Center.

Lisa occasionally was cranky – but had a big heart sometimes challenged by a series of medical conditions that would test anyone (myasthenia gravis among them). Lisa was witty, clever, and an astute money manager (a trait she inherited from her mother).

Good bye, Lisa. You will be missed.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on Friday, August 31, at 11 am at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home on Emerald St, Hingham. In lieu of flowers or other commemorations, please just be nice to everyone you know and to those you meet along the way. Life is short.
