Linda L. Wing

Linda L. Wing, a lifelong resident of Braintree, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 4, 2024. She was 78 years old.

Born in 1945, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Dean MacDonald.

Linda's zest for life and her unwavering love for her family defined her almost 79 years. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness and generosity. Linda's passion for her family was unparalleled, especially when it came to her cherished husband, children and seven grandchildren. She enjoyed almost 45 years of marriage with her husband. She was her grandkids’ greatest supporter, never missing an event and spoiling them with constant attention. Her presence at family gatherings was a source of comfort and happiness, and her ability to spoil her grandkids knew no limit. She was always on the go, never one to stop, earning her the nickname the energizer bunny!

An avid camper, Linda's love for spending time with her camp family and friends began in her childhood in Manomet, MA, and continued throughout her life with vacation homes in both New Hampshire and Maine. Her experiences camping were among her most treasured memories. Linda's love for travel didn't end with camping in New England; she was also a Disney enthusiast. Her many trips to the Magic Kingdom with her family were filled with laughter and countless souvenirs. Her travel bug expanded beyond the US, she traveled the world with her husband to many countries, including India, Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, and Italy.

Linda dedicated many years of service to Tufts Medical Center, where she found great fulfillment in her work and formed lasting friendships. The Tufts Medical team was equally dedicated to Linda as was evident in the care received in her final days. She was committed to her church and Union Towers From teaching Sunday school and helping with the church fair to caring for the many little ones in the crib room.

Linda embodied the spirit of Christmas year-round with her generosity and giving of gifts, all of which were exquisitely wrapped. Holidays were a favorite of hers and her home was a hub of holiday cheer, the highlight being the annual Christmas Eve party. Feeding those she loved was her passion, her cooking was a culinary hug, and those Sunday turkey dinners were the highlight of the week.

Linda's sense of style was impeccable; she was always dressed to the nines, never stepping out without her hair and makeup done to perfection. She took great pains to ensure that her ensemble was complete with complimentary jewelry and matching shoes. Her creative talents shone through her sewing and knitting, with every project and costume for her family being a testament to her incredible skill and love.

Linda was one of a kind and truly loved by all. She will be remembered by everyone who knew her with fondness and gratitude.

Predeceased by her husband William Wing. Loving mother to Bonnie Kirby and her husband Stephen of Hanover, Lorrie Daly and her husband Peter of Braintree, and Michael Wing and his wife Nicole of Braintree. Cherished Nina to Abby Smith and her husband Garrett, Ian Kirby, Aidan Daly, James Daly, Matthew Daly, Charlotte Wing, and Lillian Wing.
