Linda M. (Searle) Fitzgibbon

Linda M. (Searle) Fitzgibbon of Middleboro, formerly of Weymouth, died February 6, 2021. The beloved wife of the late William “Don” Fitzgibbon. Cherished mother of:  Deborah Collins and her husband Eugene of Plymouth, Edward M. Fitzgibbon and his wife Theresa of Stoughton, and William D. Fitzgibbon and his wife Heather of Norton.  Sister of:  Marion Webb of NC, Robert Searle of PA, Paula O’Brien of NH, and of the late Norma Searle, Carol Clune, Richard Searle, and Nancy Brenton. Devoted grandmother of Kelly, Jason, and Nicole, and to her great grandson Shayne.  Linda is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Linda grew up in Jamaica Plain and Dorchester. She married the love of her life William “Don” Fitzgibbon and raised her family in South Weymouth before moving to Middleboro. Linda worked as the Director of Meal Services for South Shore Elder Services. She was an avid reader and was always up to the challenge of a puzzle no matter how difficult. She loved music, watching old movies, taking long walks,  knitting, and gardening. She enjoyed playing cards and board games. The fabric of her life was her family, they were what was most important to her. Although they are heartbroken at her loss, they are grateful for all the blessings she brought into their lives.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from  3-7p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30a.m.  Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Linda may be made to: Beacon Hospice, 68 Center Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.
