Linda M. Ivers

Linda M. Ivers, age 93 passed away on January 6, 2024.  She was born on July 1, 1930. 

Linda was a beloved aunt to her nephews and nieces, Kevin McGurl and his wife Jean, Joseph McGurl and his wife Particia, Michael McGurl and his wife Carol, Beth Cronin, Maria Phillips and her husband Patrick and many grand nieces and nephews.  

Linda was a dedicated librarian having worked at the Boston Public Library as a head librarian and eventually becoming a supervisor of 7 branches of the library. She was highly educated, graduating Cum Laude from Boston University and earning a master’s degree from Simmons College.  

In her free time, Linda volunteered at Long Island Hospital in Boston Harbor, enjoyed mountain climbing, walking, playing guitar, and spending time with her family.  She was known for love of nature and her passion for animals.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10 from 2 to 4 pm at Keohane Funeral Home, Hancock St., Quincy, MA.  In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charitable organization of your choice.
