Lillian P. Battles

Battles, Lillian P. (Connolly) of Quincy originally from Dorchester – Neponset section, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a period of failing health on May 25, 2014, she was 93. 

Loving wife of the late William K. Battles, Sr. The most beloved mother of William K. Battles, Jr and his wife Carol of Portsmouth, VA, Ellen M. Battles of Kingston, Carol A. Stenmon and her husband William of Quincy, Joanne P. Maguire and her husband Donald of Weymouth, John L. Battles of Quincy and the late Edward B. Battles. Daughter of the late Edmund and Ellen (Walsh) Connolly. She is the cherished grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Lillian had a strong work ethic, she worked in the food industry for several local catering companies for nearly 50 years, retiring at the young age of 84. She enjoyed reading, traveling music, dancing and the beach. She also looked forward to her trips to Foxwoods. She wintered in Naples, Florida where she made many special and dear friends. The foundation of her life was her family, they were truly what was most important to her. She will be sadly missed by all.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
