Lillian F. Donovan

Lillian F. (Lawrie) Donovan of Hingham, died  peacefully on  December 10, 2021. She was 98.  The beloved wife of the late Harold E. Donovan, Jr. Loving mother of  Carole D. Nicodemus of Newport, RI, Harold  E. Donovan, III of Hanover, Paul R. Donovan of Abington and Brian J. Donovan of Wimberley, TX.  Lillian is also survived  by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

Lillian grew up in Arlington and spent her summers in Hull with her extended family. Lillian was a graduate of Emmanuel College and graduated on D Day, June 6, 1944. She received her degree in Math and Physics.  After graduation, Lillian took a position at M.I.T., later leaving to start her family.  She loved to play tennis and continued playing well into her 80’s. Lillian was an avid Patriots fan. She and her late husband Harold won season tickets to their very first season and continued being season tickets holders, even attending two super bowls in New Orleans. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean. Lillian also enjoyed playing Mahjong. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021  from  9:30-11:30 in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 12 Noon in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lillian may be made to Animal Rescue League, 10 Chandler Street, Boston, MA 02116 .
