Lillian D. (DiTocco) Cantrell, a longtime resident of Quincy, died on her 91st birthday on July 8, 2013. Lillian worked as a sales associate in the furniture industry for many years, including 7 years at Pray’s Furniture in Braintree and 10 years at J. Homestock Furniture in Norwood/Dedham. Her experience and great taste led to a career in interior decorating and a home in which she took pride. Lillian’s artistic flair extended to floral arranging, fashion and jewelry. After retiring to Florida in 1980, she became an active parishioner, Eucharistic Minister and volunteer who drove the elderly to their appointments. Her family was the foundation of all that was important to her. She will be remembered as a kind and fun person, with a wonderful sense of humor and exuberance that led to her family nickname “Auntie Mame.”
Beloved wife of the late Earl A. Cantrell. Devoted mother of Kenneth E. Cantrell and his wife Catherine of Chelmsford. Cherished “Na” of Cynthia Cantrell and her husband Jack McHugh of Chelmsford, Christina Cantrell of OK and Kevin Cantrell of Chelmsford. Loving sister of the late Virginia Giachetti and her late husband Joe, the late Robert DiTocco and his late wife Ann, the late Eleanor Bylaska and her husband Bob of Cape Cod, the late William DiTocco and his late wife Clara, the late John DiTocco and his wife Grace of Rockland, Pearl Hickey and her late husband Bob of Quincy, Joan Flaherty and her late husband Henry of Randolph, Tony DiTocco and his wife Marion of FL, Betty Tempesta and her husband Al of Weymouth and Judy Bellissimo and her late husband Bill of FL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday prior to the funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Parish, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Lillian may be made to New England Hospice, 190 Old Derby Street, Suite #304, Hingham, MA 02043.
