Leonarda C. Nelson

Leonarda C. (Spinale) Nelson of Hingham, MA, formerly of West Roxbury, died July 10, 2017. She was 91.

Daughter of James and Angela Spinale. Born and raised in the West End, she enjoyed reading, cooking, and had a love of politics. A passionate advocate for education and a lifelong patron of many charities. Her sparkling smile and generosity of spirit welcomed many into her home and her heart. She was fiercely devoted to her family and will be remembered fondly.

Beloved wife of George W. Nelson of Hingham. Devoted mother of Kathleen Nelson of Hingham, James Nelson and his wife Grace of North Carolina, Maria Nelson of Hingham and the late Angela Antoniazzi. Honorary mother of Janet Gallant Chambers of Hingham. Cherished Grandma of Jennifer and Christian Antoniazzi, Kathryn Underwoood, Anthony Nelson, Azurae Hood, Madison Chambers, Courtney Contiagiani and great-grandsons Malcolm and James. Loving sister of Jenny Laoisa of Braintree, Carmella Rinaldi of Wakefield and Rita Baglieri of Malden. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Thursday 9-10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 12 N Square, Boston, Ma 02113.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leonarda may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth MA 02360.
