Leonard “Sonny” Renda

Renda, Leonard “ Sonny” of Quincy, passed away on January 15, 2013, he was 78.

The beloved husband of 56 years to Gertrude M. “Trudy” (McCarthy) Renda of Quincy. Cherished father of Elizabeth Renda of Quincy. Brother of Marietta O’Connor of Quincy. Brother in Law of Margaret L. Donato and her husband Ray of Atlanta, GA and the late Dennis J. McCarthy and his wife Joan of Brockton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sonny was a longtime Quincy resident. He had a long and distinguished career as a manager for the Stop and Shop companies. After his retirement in retail, he began another career in real estate, which he found rewarding. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed following his New England teams and also enjoyed keeping up with local politics. A proud United States Army Veteran. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and cherished father who was always there for his family. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.  Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sonny may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
