Leonard “Lennie” Miceli

Leonard “Lennie” Miceli, age 91, of Quincy, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2022. He was a longtime resident of Quincy and loved by all who met him.

Lennie was born and raised in Somerville, MA; and he graduated from Somerville High School in 1949. Lennie proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954 in the 60th Infantry Regiment, stationed in Germany. He married the love of his life, Patricia J. Lowney, whom he affectionately referred to as his “darlin” in 1960. They moved to Quincy where they raised their family of five children and he proudly taught history and civics at North Quincy High School for over 30 years. He was a proud Italian father, who passed on many traditions to his children, embodying his motto “Family is Forever”.

Lennie was a beloved friend and neighbor in the Beechwood Knoll community. He was an icon in the neighborhood, always waving to neighbors and grabbing an extra chair to include them in conversation. As an educator, Lennie ignited the passion for learning in his students. Numerous times, past students would enthusiastically stop by and say hello to “Mr. Miceli” and thank him for his impact on their lives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband to Patricia J. (Lowney). Devoted father of Leonard and Shanie (Gobbi) of Marshfield, Patricia and Hans Laenen of Weymouth, Mark and Joan (Climo) of Quincy, Linda and the late Robert Lynch of Hingham, and Laura Miceli of Quincy.
