Abbondanzio, Leona G. (Hogan) of Kingston formerly of Braintree and Quincy, passed away June 11, 2012 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Frank Abbondanzio. Loving mother of Sheila Watson of Holbrook, Kathleen DiBona of Weymouth, Frank Abbondanzio of Montague, MA, Diane DelVecchio of Kingston and Robert Abbondanzio of Putney, VT. Devoted sister of Theresa Miller of PA and the late Isabel O’Reilly, Rosalie Crooks, Margaret O’Connell, Grace Zelinsky, Rev. Edmund Hogan, S.J., Elinor, William, Rhea, Leo, Victor and Anna Hogan. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Leona was born and raised in Avon and lived in Quincy before settling in Braintree where she raised her family. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Howard Johnson’s for 25 years before retiring in 1985. Leona enjoyed playing piano, knitting and doing crosswords. She was a very social woman who enjoyed getting together with friends. Most of all, Leona’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her. Leona’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for the Care given to Leona at Wingate at Silver Lake over the past few years and especially in the final days of her life, they would also like to acknowledge Cranberry Hospice for their exceptional and devoted care and kindness. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Leona may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA 02360.
