Leo J. Parenti

Parenti, Leo J. of Hingham January 9, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Claire J. (Powers) Parenti. Wonderful father of Michael McDougall and his wife Fran of Marshfield, Peter McDougall and his wife Linda of Hingham, Claire and her husband John Corry of Hingham, Trudy McLaughlin of Needham and Jim Parenti and his wife Michelle of Hingham. Father-in-law of Bill McLaughlin of Norwell. Devoted brother of Remi Gabrielle of Hingham. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Gathering in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Friday from 4-8 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday January 16 at 10:45 AM. Leo’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gave him the most enjoyment in his life. He was so proud of all their accomplishments. Mr. Parenti was a true Patriot. He loved everything about America and participated in and attended many of the Veteran’s Day, 4th of July and Flag Day celebrations. He was a proud supporter of the Disabled American Veteran’s. Leo was a member of the Yankee Division of the U.S. Army and never missed one of their reunions. He enjoyed his career with the Boston Harbor Islands so much that they named a ship after him called, “Leo”. He also had worked for the Boston Naval Shipyards. Leo enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland for his 25th wedding anniversary and to Foxwoods. His family describes him as a born entertainer. He never missed an opportunity to sing and dance at family gatherings. He loved his Italian heritage. Leo had a special way of interacting with people of all ages that created friends for life.
