Leo Georgopoulos

Leo Georgopoulos, of Hull, died April 11, 2013.

Leo grew up in Boston and moved to Hull in 1949. He was a proud W.W. II Army Air Corp Veteran and was well known for his famous “Leo’s” hot dog stand on Nantasket Beach for more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and solving cryptogram puzzles. Leo had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs. The essence of his life was his family, he adored them and in return they cherished him. Leo will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of Yvonne (Bates) Georgopoulos of Hull. Cherished father of Ann Foster of Hingham, Brooke Marquis and her husband John of Quincy. Step-father of Michael Sweeney and his wife Glenda of Plymouth. Brother of Frances D’Agostino. Loving Papa of Samuel & Holly Foster, Christopher Sweeney and his wife Shana, and Laura Mazzeo and her husband Bill. Great Grandfather of Chase & Cate Mazzeo. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 9am prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, Cohasset, at 10:00 AM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull. Donations in memory of Leo may be made to Wellspring, 814 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045.
