Ladas, Leo A. of Hough’s Neck, Quincy, retired Captain of Quincy Fire Dept., March 30, 2002. Beloved husband of Jean M. (Bythrow) Ladas. Loving father of Leo A., Jr. & his wife Jean K. Ladas of Franklin, Mark E. & his wife Kristen Ladas, David J. Ladas and Nancy L. Ladas, all of Quincy. Loving Grampa of Andrea Marie Starr, John L. Ladas, Marjorie J. Ladas & Michael C. Ladas. Brother of Louis J. Ladas of Hanover, Theresa Norton of Framingham, Phyllis Gantley of Quincy and the late Paul A. Ladas. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Hough’s Neck at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 PM. Mr. Ladas was a lifetime resident of Hough’s Neck. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1942 and attended Colorado State University and Boston College. Before going to work for the Quincy Fire Department, he worked at Bethleham Steel in Quincy. He began his career as a firefighter in 1948, was promoted to Lt. in 1966 and then to Captain in 1978. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters, Quincy Firefighter Local #792 and the American Legion Morrisette Post. Recently, he was active at the South Shore YMCA. Donations in memory of Mr. Ladas may be made to the Quincy Fireman’s Relief Fund, c/o Ernie Arienti, 40 Quincy Ave. Quincy, MA 02169.
