Cleary, Lawrence J. “Larry” of Quincy, died September 4, 2013.
Beloved husband of Catherine T. (Curran). Loving father of Lawrence J. Cleary and his wife, Laura, of Abington, Michael F. Cleary and his wife, Sarah of Washington, Timothy J. Cleary of Quincy, Kathleen T. Andrew and her husband, Paul of Braintree, Anne M. Knox and her husband, James of Pembroke, Eileen P. McKenzie and her husband, John of Franklin, and Thomas A. Cleary and his wife, Marie of Weymouth. Brother of the late Gertrude Brown. Grandfather of the late John “Jack” McKenzie. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Until his retirement, Lawrence was a detective with the Boston Police Department. A proud Veteran, he served during World War II, 8th Army Air Corp. Larry was also a D Day Survivor, a member of the Disabled American Veterans as well as a Past President of the Boston Police Emerald Society.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial will be in private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
