Laurence A. Collins

Laurence A. Collins, a lifelong resident of Weymouth, died December 25, 2021 at the age of 71.

Larry worked as a millwright for Armstrong in Braintree for 15 years. He later worked for the Weymouth DPW for many years, where he retired in 2014, and also worked alongside his wife for her company, Sharon’s Cleaning Service. He enjoyed visiting his favorite restaurants: The Venetian, Jimmy’s Diner and Easter’s Kitchen on a regular basis. Larry was known as a hard worker always doing side jobs, helping out friends and working on his house.  In his free time he enjoyed working on cars and hunting, but most of all Larry loved spending time with family and friends.

He leaves his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon M. (Bourgoin) Collins. Loving father of Lisa Collins and John Pagliaro of Weymouth; Sherri Collins and Thomas Taylor of Weymouth; James Collins of Weymouth; and Michael Collins and Jenna Varner of Holbrook. Proud “Pup” of Kaitlyn Curry and her husband Chris; Jacqueline Richardson, the late Brian MacDonald, Jr. and great grandson Calvin Curry.  Brother of Bruce D. Collins of Greenville, SC, Steven P. Collins of Holbrook, the late Leslie W. Collins, the late Paul A. Collins, the late George N. Collins, and the late Richard F. Collins. Best friend of his dog Nikki. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Larry’s family kindly requests that visitors wear masks during the indoor services. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
