Laura Dorothy (Vekos) Spacco

Laura Dorothy (Vekos) Spacco, of Quincy, formerly of Randolph and Braintree, died suddenly at her home on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She was 60.

Born in Boston on July 31, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Christo and Dorothy (Rooney) Vekos. Laura was raised in Randolph and attended Randolph High School. She continued her education by attending hairdressing school. Laura worked as a hairdresser and a nurse technician for Quincy Medical Center for many years, before her early retirement. She enjoyed her work and the relationships she built throughout the years.

Laura was an avid music lover, she enjoyed attending local concerts when she was young and reading autobiographies on famous music groups. She always put an emphasis on appearance and loved to look her best. It didn’t matter if she was running errands or meeting with friends, her hair, clothes, and makeup always looked perfect. Laura was always laughing, whether it was her 7am phone calls with her daughter Kristen, or hearing Brittany vent about her dog. She enjoyed her daily walks around the city to run her errands. During the holidays she enjoyed setting up parties within the building she lived in and volunteering for the homeless. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her courage for speaking up for herself, and the love for her family and friends.

Laura was the devoted mother of Kristen D. Spacco of Quincy and Brittany D. Spacco of Clearwater, Florida. She was the dear sister of Chris Vekos and his wife Louise of Hanson and is also survived by two loving nephews, Eric and Kyle, extended family, and friends.

Following cremation, Laura’s funeral services and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Laura’s name to the charitable organization of one’s choice.
