L. Gail Smith

L. Gail (Sheaffer) Smith, passed away on February 12th, after a long illness with her family by her side. She was 74 years old.

Devoted mother to Andrea Fisher, and her husband, David, and James Smith, and his wife, Nancy. A loving grandmother to Michael Shimkus, and his wife Morgan, Jordan Chaves and Skylar Smith, great grandmother to Audrey, Oakley and Grayson, sister to Carol Carroll, aunt to Joy Freeman and lifelong friend to James “Jimmy” Smith. Will also be missed by many extended family members and friends.

Gail loved sewing, going out to dinner, shopping, and a good yard sale. A selfless and charitable woman, Gail emphasized the importance of family and having a good work ethic. Gail had a long history in health care: a graduate from Northeastern University, she held careers as an X-ray and MRI technologist.  She will be remembered as a strong, independent woman who believed that if you want something, you need to work for it.
