Kristen “Kris” Kouyate

Kristen Jeanne Kay Kouyate left this world surrounded by her loving family on October 2, 2021. 

She leaves her husband of 16 years, Balla Kouyate, and her beautiful children, Jossira and Sekou Kouyate. Kris also leaves her loving family. Her parents, Suzanne and George Kay of Hingham, Her sister, Melissa Steves and husband Matt of Maryland, her sister Rebecca Cram and husband Doug of New Mexico, her brother Matt Kay wife Christine of Hingham. Kris also leaves 8 adoring nieces and nephews. 

Kris had been a Multimedia Supervisor at Harvard University for many years. Her greatest joy was her children. She was a fierce mother who spent every moment cheering for them at the soccer fields and basketball courts. Kris was a dedicated Girl Scout leader. Her passion for living and adventurous spirit was both contagious and inspiring. She loved music and African dance, singing karaoke, crafting and spending time in nature.  Kris spent much of her time helping those in need with food and material donations, and gifted her time and knowledge to those who needed help. She was a loyal friend and confidant to many and a keeper of traditions. Everyone who knew Kris always remembers her most infectious laugh. She lit up a room with her light and joy, her poise and touched the lives of everyone she met. A bright and shining light has left us. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
